Adventist HealthCare’s Shady Grove Medical Center in Maryland is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor and Delivery. The role emphasizes educating patients and families, adhering to ANA standards, and applying evidence-based practice to patient care.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, applying clinical guidelines, and developing care plans. The position features full-time hours (36 per week, three 12-hour day shifts) with a weekend rotation and shift differential; FLSA

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• NRP is required for Labor & Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while also advancing knowledge and skills under guidance of senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards, and uphold Adventist HealthCare values in nursing practice.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties, and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care tailored to the patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounds from patient and family perspectives.
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice; identify opportunities for improvement.
