Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN (L&D RN) to provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns before, during, and after childbirth, including monitoring vitals, assisting deliveries, and coordinating with the care team for both routine and emergency situations.

This night-shift, full-time position offers a 12-hour schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Maternal Monitoring: check blood pressure, heart rate, temp, O2; watch for preeclampsia or infection.
• Labor Support: assist with positioning, breathing techniques, comfort measures.
• IV Therapy: start and maintain IVs for hydration, meds or anesthesia.
• Patient Advocacy: support birth plans and cultural needs.
• Newborn Care: assess newborn, Apgar scoring, cord clamping, prophylactic meds.
• Coordinate with care teams during antepartum and postpartum periods.
