Fairview Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse on the Labor Care team at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This .6 FTE overnight position includes 12-hour shifts with every third weekend rotation, with cross-training to Post-Partum.

Qualifications

• At least 6–12 months of labor care experience.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid RN Licensure from MN Board of Nursing.
• NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Post partum and med surg training within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates commitment to the patient care model and nursing vision.
• Utilizes the nursing process to coordinate outcome-focused patient care, incorporating holistic nursing theory where offered.
• Communicates effectively with patient/family, physicians, and interdependent team regarding plan of care.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family; develops an education plan.
• Participates in improvements to achieve quality, experience, engagement, and efficiency.
• Complies with regulatory requirements and practice standards.
• Coordinates the interdependent team and promotes collaboration.
• Contributes to department goals related to safety, cost, quality, and patient experience.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable laws and standards.
• Performs other responsibilities as needed.

Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Labor Care team at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This position is a .6 FTE (48 hours per 2 week pay period), overnight shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend rotation. This position would also cross-train to Post-Partum.

Job Description:

• Demonstrates commitment to principles of the patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) and achieving the Woodwinds nursing vision and strategy.
• Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to coordinate outcome focused patient care. Throughout this process, also understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory based on Watson's Theory of Caring aligning with the practice standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association whenever holistic therapy is offered.
• Communicates effectively with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team, and other disciplines regarding the plan of care.
• Assesses and documents learning needs of the patient and family. Develops an individualized education plan for patients and families based on identified needs.
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and efficiency and effectiveness outcomes.
• Complies with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Coordinates the interdependent team while promoting collaborative teamwork and cooperation.
• Actively participates in the development and achievement of department goals (safety, cost, quality, patient experience, employee engagement).
• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
• Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.

Required:
