Valley Health is seeking an RN for Labor & Delivery in Virginia. The RN will implement the nursing process, provide patient education, and participate in quality and safety initiatives. The role requires Virginia nursing licensure or eligibility and appropriate certifications, with BSN preferred.

The department emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and professional communications. The position includes required certifications (BLS, ACLS/EKG as applicable) and adherence to competency milestones.

Qualifications

• RN license required; Virginia license or eligibility.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
• ACLS/EKG and Pharmacology coursework within 6 months for Labor and Delivery.
• Reliable phone communication with hospital.
• Must secure Virginia Board of Nursing Eligibility to Test or interim verification if applicable.
• Out-of-state compact rules may apply for non-VA residents.

Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, evaluation, documentation and time management.
• Coordinate patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives and collaboration with health-team staff.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities and participate in department initiatives.
• Communicate and share information with Director/Designee and coworkers.
