Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor-Delivery-Postpartum to provide evidence-based nursing care in a dynamic obstetric setting. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, focusing on patient education, safety, and family involvement.

This role requires a BSN, active Illinois RN license, and BLS certification. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support mother and newborns through obstetric care and postpartum recovery, promoting high-quality

Qualifications

BSN required; Illinois RN license (state)
American Heart Association BLS certification
Commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment
ADN accepted if pursuing BSN within specified timeframe

Responsibilities

Perform nursing care for labor, delivery and postpartum patients per standards of care.
Assess patient/family education needs and readiness to learn.
Develop and update care plans with input from the interdisciplinary team and family.
Administer medications and monitor patient responses and safety.
Coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure smooth patient flow and discharge planning.
Document care activities and patient responses accurately and timely.
