The Labor Conciliator position with the State of Illinois Department of Labor is based in Chicago, IL, and involves assisting citizens with unpaid wages, handling investigations, and preparing detailed reports. Qualificações

• Requires knowledge equivalent to four years of college, or equivalent work experience in workplace standards.
• Ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial level.
• Two years of experience conducting investigations into alleged violations of laws and policies.
• Two years of experience negotiating, mediating, and/or settling issues between parties.
• Two years of experience preparing comprehensive reports with recommendations.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and case management tools such as Microsoft SharePoint.

Responsabilidades

• Independently investigates potential violations of the labor and employment laws enforced by the Department, including various acts.
• Performs expert level analysis of complex and unusual labor issues and cases.
• Travels to conduct on-site investigations to gather evidence and information.
• Develops and prepares documents and reports regarding analyses, findings, and recommendations.
• Independently facilitates appropriate case resolution and monitoring.
• Performs other duties as required within the scope of duties.
