Qualifications

• Four years of college or equivalent work experience in workplace standards, wage and hour compliance, or labor regulations.
• Ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial level.
• Two years of experience conducting investigations into alleged violations of laws and policies.
• Two years of experience negotiating, mediating, and/or settling issues between parties.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for on-site investigations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site investigations and gather evidence related to Illinois labor laws.
• Investigate wage theft, minimum wage, and child labor violations as required.
• Facilitate case resolution through mediation and negotiation between parties.
• Prepare detailed, clear investigative reports for agency records.
• Engage with Spanish-speaking employers, employees, and witnesses as needed.
