United Contractors (UCON) is looking for an experienced Labor Compliance professional to assist our contractor members with labor compliance as it relates to their Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) and general public works standards as mandated in the state of California. This role will involve working with contractor members to resolve complex labor compliance issues as well as advising members on best practices.

United Contractors is seeking a Labor Compliance Manager to work with the team to manage contract administration of the 20+ CBAs UCON manages, assist in negotiations logistics, provide contract interpretation in service to our contractor members, and assist in public works compliance. This role is a key partner to Labor and Member Services Department helping to address the CBA contract interpretation, advocacy, and prevailing wage/public works compliance needs of our members.
In addition to supporting collective bargaining agreement administration and compliance, you will support the department’s member services efforts by helping maintain accurate records, preparing and organizing data, assisting with meeting logistics, and providing direct input and advice to senior LMS leadership.
You will be a go-to resource for day-to-day contract interpretation questions and public works needs, helping members fulfill their CBA obligations as well as ensure compliance with state and federal law.
Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex language in a practical way. You will collaborate closely with UCON’s Labor & Member Services team and other internal partners and report directly to the Director of Labor Relations. This role is NOT just transactional paperwork. The role is a high-trust contract administration and compliance partner who can manage details without losing context, interpret language with sound judgment, and support members and senior staff with organized, accurate, and timely work.
