The ideal candidate will have experience advising employers on employment-related matters, handling employment litigation, and providing practical legal guidance on workplace issues. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to contribute to a collaborative legal team while developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in labor and employment disputes, including claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage-and-hour issues.
• Manage employment litigation matters from initial case assessment through discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial, as appropriate.
• Advise clients on compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Provide practical guidance on employee discipline, termination, workplace investigations, leave policies, accommodations, and other employment-related issues.
• Draft, review, and revise employment agreements, employee handbooks, workplace policies, and other employment-related documents.
• Conduct and assist with internal workplace investigations and provide recommendations to mitigate legal risk.
• Develop effective litigation strategies and communicate case developments, risks, and potential resolutions to clients.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Maintain strong client relationships while delivering responsive, business-oriented legal advice.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the firm's broader litigation and client service objectives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with the applicable state bar.
• Experience handling labor and employment matters in a law firm or comparable legal environment.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal issues in practical terms.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and work independently while contributing to a team.
• Strong commitment to client service, professionalism, and high-quality legal work.

Preferred Experience

• Experience representing employers in employment litigation and administrative proceedings.
• Familiarity with federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, the ADA, the FMLA, the FLSA, and applicable state employment statutes.
• Experience advising clients on workplace policies, compliance, risk management, and employee relations.
• Deposition, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, or trial experience.
• A demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive client relationships.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $170k-250k base. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
