Job summary

Essence Global seeks an experienced attorney to represent employers in labor and employment matters, handling cases from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will focus on workplace discrimination, wage-and-hour issues, PAGA, and class actions while advising clients on policies and compliance.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
• Active license to practice law in the applicable state.
• 3+ years of labor and employment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in state and federal employment litigation.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Provide day-to-day employment counseling to corporate clients.
• Advise clients regarding workplace policies, employee relations, accommodations, leave issues, and compliance.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
• Work directly with clients and collaborate with partners and other attorneys.

• Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage-and-hour disputes.
• Defend employers in PAGA and class action matters.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Provide day-to-day employment counseling to corporate clients.
• Advise clients regarding workplace policies, employee relations, accommodations, leave issues, and compliance.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation and case strategies.
• Work directly with clients and collaborate with partners and other attorneys.
• Manage matters efficiently while maintaining high-quality legal work.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• 3+ years of labor and employment experience preferred.
• Strong employer-side employment litigation experience.
• Experience with employment discrimination, wage & hour, PAGA, or class action matters is highly desirable.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage cases and work effectively with clients.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills preferred.
