Job summary

Ascendion, a well-established California plaintiff-side employment law firm, is expanding and hiring an experienced Associate Attorney to handle complex employment matters, including single-plaintiff litigation, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour disputes.

The role offers a competitive base salary of $180,000–$275,000 plus commissions and a comprehensive benefits package, including employer-paid malpractice insurance, health, dental and vision

Qualifications

• Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar.
• Minimum of 3 years of plaintiff-side employment litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage cases from inception through resolution.
• Strong communication and client advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of employment matters, including pre-litigation and active litigation cases.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and trial briefs.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear in court to argue motions and advocate on behalf of clients.
• Communicate directly with clients and contribute to overall case strategy.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

• Manage a diverse caseload of employment matters, including both pre-litigation and active litigation cases
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and trial briefs
• Take and defend depositions
• Appear in court to argue motions and advocate on behalf of clients
• Communicate directly with clients and contribute to overall case strategy
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
• Develop and execute litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
