Marshall Graham is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Litigation Attorney to join its California practice, handling a substantial caseload from day one. The candidate will defend and litigate employment disputes, manage matters across all stages, and collaborate with senior attorneys across California offices.

The role requires 6+ years of Labor & Employment experience, strong deposition and motion practice skills, and California bar admission.

A well-established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Litigation Attorney to join its California practice. This is an opportunity for an accomplished litigator to take on a significant caseload, work directly with sophisticated clients, and play an important role in the continued growth of a highly regarded Labor & Employment practice.

The firm is seeking an attorney who can hit the ground running and independently manage matters from day one. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience defending and litigating employment disputes and be comfortable handling matters through all stages of litigation.

The attorney will manage a full Labor & Employment litigation caseload, including matters generated by significant new client relationships. The role offers substantial autonomy while providing the opportunity to collaborate with experienced attorneys across the firm's California offices.

Responsibilities will include:

• Independently managing a diverse Labor & Employment litigation caseload
• Taking and defending depositions
• Handling matters through trial and arbitration
• Drafting and arguing dispositive and other substantive motions
• Managing discovery and developing litigation strategy
• Defending discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and related employment claims
• Handling wage-and-hour disputes, including class and representative actions
• Representing employers in state and federal court
• Responding to and managing administrative proceedings, including EEOC and California agency matters
• Advising public and private-sector clients regarding employment practices and compliance
• Counseling clients regarding federal and California employment laws
• Working collaboratively with partners and senior attorneys on complex and high-profile matters
• Traveling throughout California as necessary for depositions, hearings, trials, arbitrations, and client meetings

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 6+ years of Labor & Employment experience
• Significant employment litigation experience
• Demonstrated experience independently managing a litigation caseloadStrong experience with depositions and motion practice
• Experience handling trials and/or arbitrations
• Experience with discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination matters
• Experience with wage-and-hour litigation, including class and/or representative actions
• Experience appearing in state and federal courts
• Experience handling EEOC and/or California administrative proceedings
• Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and client-management skills
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other attorneys
• California bar admission in good standing

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following is particularly valuable:

• Wage-and-hour class actions
• PAGA litigation
• Public-sector employment matters
• Complex employment litigation
• First-chair trial or arbitration experience
• An established client base or portable book of business
