Job summary

Job Summary:

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (LDRN) provides compassionate, high-quality nursing care to expectant mothers throughout labor, delivery, and recovery. This role involves monitoring vital signs, assisting with medical procedures, offering childbirth and lactation education, and providing emotional support to patients. The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care during the childbirth process. Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing and the ability to work both day and night shifts are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to laboring, delivering, and recovering mothers.
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and respond to changes promptly.
• Assist physicians and midwives with medical procedures during labor and delivery.
• Educate patients on childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
• Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.
• Document patient care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in Labor & Delivery or related specialty.
• Clinical skills in maternal and neonatal assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with childbirth education and lactation support.
• Additional certifications such as NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Experience working in a fast-paced labor and delivery environment.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work a mix of day and night shifts.
