Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) to provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered care across the nursing process. You will educate families, supervise staff, and collaborate with the care team in a hospital setting.

The role emphasizes high standards, adherence to policies, and ongoing professional development, with opportunities to float to other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NM or Multi-State Compact (eNLC).
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current certifications: ACLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, OPS Emergency Workshop, and STABLE (within 12 months).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Deliver direct patient care promoting optimal health outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and families to support health literacy and transitions of care.
• Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.

• Float to other departments as needed with orientation and training.

This role involves direct patient care across the lifespan, individualized patient education, supervision of ancillary staff, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to professional nursing standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care promoting optimal health outcomes.
• Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families to support health literacy and transitions of care.
• Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel.

• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Education and clinical experience providing necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for LDRP department.
• Current certifications: ACLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, OPS Emergency Workshop, and STABLE (within 12 months).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to patients of all ages.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• SAFER NM Technician certification.
• Experience and skill in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

Special Considerations

• Frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials.
• Work primarily in a temperature-controlled hospital setting with occasional exposure to varied sounds, odors, and emotionally challenging situations.
• Physical ability to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment.
• Ability to work effectively under stress, respond calmly to emergencies, and maintain strong problem-solving and coping skills.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic clinical situations.

• Night shift schedule in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) unit.
• Shift assignments determined by hospital staffing needs with possible float to other departments.
