Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Springfield, MA. The nurse will apply nursing processes to patient care in the L&D setting, make clinical judgments, and collaborate with teams to ensure safe delivery and postpartum care.

The role requires an active RN license in Massachusetts, at least 1 year of L&D experience (preferred), CPR if applicable, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred.
• RNC-OB Preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility and accountability for the nursing process and delivery of patient care in the L&D setting.
• Assist Mothers during the final stages of pregnancy and monitor vital signs for signs of complications.
• Provide patient education and address psychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery; coordinate patient care.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse assumes responsibility andaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofpatient care in the L&D Setting. TheLabor and Delivery Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments inan effective and efficient manner with supervision.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse works with Mothers during thefinal stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vitalsigns, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possiblecomplications. The Labor and DeliveryNurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs ofMothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performanceability in the coordination of patient care.Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountablein managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patientcare.
