Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Niles, MI. The role requires a current RN license in the state of practice, L&D experience preferred, and may require RNC-OB, CPR, and health certification.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred.
• RNC-OB preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for the nursing process and delivery of patient care in the L&D setting.
• Works with mothers during the final stages of pregnancy, monitoring vitals and recognizing potential complications.
• Provides patient education and addresses psychosocial needs after delivery.
• Maintains nursing standards and coordinates patient care with the healthcare team.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse assumes responsibility andaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofpatient care in the L&D Setting. TheLabor and Delivery Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments inan effective and efficient manner with supervision.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse works with Mothers during thefinal stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vitalsigns, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possiblecomplications. The Labor and DeliveryNurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs ofMothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performanceability in the coordination of patient care.Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountablein managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patientcare.

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state ofpractice
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience withinthe last three years preferred
• RNC-OB Preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
