The healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery ready to guide high-acuity obstetric operations within a newly developed maternity and neonatal care environment while remaining close to frontline nursing practice.

The Labor and Delivery service spans prenatal evaluation through postpartum and neonatal care, with spacious L&D rooms, dedicated labor-delivery-recovery space, triage and testing rooms, expanded C-section suites, private mother-baby accommodations, and an antepartum area for high-risk pregnancies. The Assistant Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery will help coordinate workflow across Obstetrics, Women's Services, Mother Baby, and a substantial neonatologist-supported NICU. This is a high-acuity maternal-child environment offering advanced maternal-fetal care, fetal surgery capabilities, specialized neonatal intensive care, and integrated support for complex pregnancy and delivery cases. Specially trained Labor and Delivery nurses work alongside obstetric physicians, maternal-fetal specialists, anesthesiology, neonatologists, and pediatric medical group partners. With multidisciplinary prenatal-to-postpartum care, this leader will have meaningful authority over staffing decisions, throughput, quality improvement, clinical standards, and daily operational priorities.

Responsibilities include coaching charge nurses and bedside staff, supporting performance and professional development, managing patient flow, escalating clinical concerns, and partnering with nursing leaders, physicians, NICU teams, surgical services, and ancillary departments.
