Job summary

The Label Tech is responsible for maintaining all packaging in a manufacturing and packaging environment at Eillien’s Candies in Green Bay, WI. You will receive and stock printed labels/film, keep accurate inventory, and respond to work orders with timely communication to production.

You must read and count numbers precisely, operate powered equipment safely, and work well both independently and in a team while upholding GMP, HACCP, and sanitation standards with QA collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Basic Computer Knowledge.
• 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Previous experience operating Forklift and/or pallet jack is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Receive in and stock all packaging and case tags.
• Inventory stock and communicate shortages to label department.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack safely.
• Fill work orders for packaging needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Develop and maintain positive and effective communication with the day shift label department.
• Support safety and sanitation programs (GMP, HACCP) with QA team.

Position Overview

The Label Tech is responsible for maintaining all packaging in a manufacturing and packaging environment. This position receives and stocks all printed labels/film while maintaining accurate inventory stock in a physical, fast-paced setting. This position responds to work orders in a timely fashion and communicate with production on an on-going basis.

Essential Functions

• Effectively receive in and stock all packaging and case tags.
• Inventory stock as needed and communicate with the label department any shorts and stock needs.
• Manage over-flow inventory skids with daily forklift use.
• Fill work orders for packaging needs in a fast-paced environment with occasional computer printing of internal labels/case tags.
• Develop and maintain positive and effective verbal and written communication with the day shift label department.
• Work well with others to continuously improve in all areas while maintaining a hazard free working environment.
• Actively promote and support employee safety, and food safety with product quality programs such as GMP’s, HACCP and quality and sanitation standards while working closely with the Quality Assurance team and co-workers.
• Safely operate powered equipment such as forklift, or pallet jack
• Assist with training new employees

Qualifications / Competencies

• Must have the ability to accurately read, count, and match numbers
• Must be able to operate powered equipment in a safe manner
• Able to perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication
• Must apply food safety and employee safety guidelines in all performance measures
• Must display good time management and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to allergens and moving forklifts and pallet jacks. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The warehouse is climate controlled.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb; or balance; and stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Full time hour schedule is subject to change with or without notice. Mandatory or voluntary overtime may be required to meet business needs.

Travel

Light travel between warehouses may be required
