Job summary

New Weds Foods is seeking a General Labor to support production and packaging operations, including dumping ingredients, bagging products, and stacking finished goods. The role ensures product quality, proper labeling, and efficient workflow while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Team members may rotate between positions and perform duties as assigned by the shift supervisor or department manager, with emphasis on safety and GMP compliance throughout the production line.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate or learn packaging and warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and assist with packaging equipment such as bagging machines and label printers.
  • Dump and verify ingredients according to batch tickets to ensure recipe accuracy.
  • Load materials into hoppers and assist with blending as required.
  • Ensure products are filled, weighed, sealed and labeled correctly.
  • Verify batch numbers, product codes and labels match the product being processed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with GMPs and LOTO procedures.

Job description

Summary:

The General Labor position supports all aspects of production and packaging operations, including dumping ingredients, bagging products, and stacking finished goods. This role ensures product quality, accurate labeling, and efficient workflow across packaging lines while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. Team members may rotate between positions and perform additional duties as assigned by the shift supervisor or department manager.

Essential Functions:
  • Operate and assist with packaging equipment, including bagging machines, scales, and label printers.
  • Dump and verify ingredients according to batch tickets to ensure recipe accuracy.
  • Load materials into hoppers and assist with blending processes as required.
  • Ensure all products are properly filled, weighed, sealed, and labeled.
  • Verify batch numbers, product codes, and labels match the product being processed.
  • Monitor and ensure metal detection systems are functioning properly, and all products pass inspection.
  • Stack finished bags neatly on pallets according to specifications, including correct pallet configuration or color.
  • Assist across production lines, including bagging, dumping, and stacking functions as needed.
  • Maintain product integrity and packaging standards throughout the production process.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately.
  • Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions (e.g., metal detectors, conveyors, rollers) to supervisors.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment; follow proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when required.
  • Follow all safety rules, food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company policies.
  • Report shortages, inconsistencies, or quality concerns to the lead operator or supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary:
  • Starting at $19.18- $22.57 an hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate or learn packaging and warehouse equipment (e.g., scales, label printers, forklifts).
  • Forklift certification may be required (training may be provided).
  • Basic math and reading skills for verifying product, labels, and batch information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull between 25–55+ lbs. on a continuous basis.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
Work Environment:
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment; follow proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when required.
  • Follow all safety rules, food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company policies.
