Job summary

Inovar Packaging Group, an industry-leading flexographic and digital printer, seeks a Label Press Assistant for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 4:20pm-2:50am) to support press operations in a fast-paced facility in Kansas City, KS. The candidate will mount plates, mix inks, maintain cleanliness, and assist with setup and cleanup, ensuring GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Math skills: measure items, work with fractions, file numerically.
• Technical skills: inventory and manufacturing software preferred.
• Physical requirements: stand long; lift up to 75 lbs; occasional climbing/bending.
• Work environment: exposure to moving mechanical parts; moderate noise.
• Personal attributes: team player, detail-oriented, self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Mount printing plates for upcoming orders.
• Pull and file plate files accurately.
• Mix inks according to job specifications.
• Pull dies for upcoming jobs and return them to shelves when done.
• Wash all ink trays, splashguards, and overflow pans.
• Ensure press areas are clean and organized; empty trash in production areas.
• Maintain inventory of consumables and complete monthly counts.
• Assist with press operations, sheeted jobs, and press setup.
• Move product to finishing as needed.
• Complete daily time sheets by task.
• Clean aniloxes with the cleaning machine.
• Follow SOPs and GMPs.
• Backup press operators as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and safety regs.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Mount printing plates for upcoming orders.
• Pull and file plate files accurately.

• Maintain an adequate supply of consumables and complete monthly inventory.
• Assist with press operations, sheeted jobs, major cleanups, and press setup.
• Move product to finishing as needed.
• Complete daily time sheets indicating time spent on each task.
• Clean aniloxes using the anilox cleaning machine.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to job functions and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Backup press operators as needed.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Math Skills: Ability to measure items, work with fractions, and file numerically.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of inventory and manufacturing software is preferred.
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
• Requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color recognition, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work Environment:
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level is typically moderate.
• Personal Attributes:
