Job summary

Molex Reliability Lab in Lisle, Illinois seeks a hands-on Test Technician to support engineering teams across the product development cycle, performing build, prep, testing and failure analysis of interconnect solutions.

Responsibilities include assembling connector and cable components, documenting data, cross sections, visual inspection, dimensional measurements, Glow Wire Testing, and developing SOPs to ensure repeatable test methods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in related field; OR an Associate's degree with 1+ years experience.
• Proficient with hand soldering equipment/techniques.
• Working knowledge of interconnect systems, twisted pair, coaxial conductors.
• Experience with wire preparation and termination techniques (crimped, soldered, welded).

Responsibilities

• Build/modify/prep connector assemblies, cable assemblies, modules, PC boards, load boards for mechanical, environmental, & electrical tests using manual/automated tools and hand soldering equipment/techniques
• Document and communicate test data, while applying critical thinking to properly analyze results
• Cross Sections
• Visual inspection at various magnifications, picture stitching
• Dimensional measurements with reference to Engineering drawings
• Glow Wire Testing
• Work closely with various project managers to ensure efficient and timely project deliverables to customers
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedure documents to ensure repeatable and reproducible test methods/results
