Job summary

Applied Technical Services, LLC is seeking a Test Technician I to support laboratory operations in Tipp City, OH. You will assist engineers and technicians with mechanical and chemical testing, data collection, and documentation, while following established procedures and safety requirements.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, flexibility to work across lab disciplines, and adherence to GLP and ISO quality systems. Overtime may be required in a dynamic testing center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• 0–2 years in testing, manufacturing, quality, or laboratory environment.
• Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through experience, training, or projects.
• Ability to follow laboratory procedures, specifications, and testing standards.
• Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment with training/supervision.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Basic math and computer skills; familiarity with MS Office.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sample preparation and assist specialists in laboratory tests.
• Perform routine testing and data collection per procedures.
• Support mechanical testing: tensile, hardness, corrosion, fastener testing; metallographic prep.
• Support chemical lab activities including prep, testing, analysis, inventory.
• Cut and prepare samples using abrasive cutoff saws and related tools.
• Interpret pass/fail results and document findings.
• Maintain records and reports per quality requirements.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
