Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Associate Engineer for the Integrated Drivetrain Energy Solutions Division (IDES) in Mossville, IL. The role focuses on validating products and processes for power controls components, including driveline, friction, and brake systems.

You will perform lab tests, analyze results, and contribute to new technology introduction while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams. This onsite role may require limited travel and relocation considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering curriculum (mechanical, agricultural, applied mechanics, materials science, or metallurgical).
• Knowledge of SOPs and ability to design and evaluate them to increase efficiency.
• Analytical thinking to identify root causes and create solutions.

Responsibilities

• Pre-test preparation, inspection, and instrumentation of components.
• Lab test development and execution for new products, processes, or systems.
• Analyze test data and maintain databases; communicate results and recommendations.
• Contribute to design, development, and validation of new drivetrain transmissions, brakes, and controls.
• Support CPPD, NPI, and CPI teams; maintain test equipment and procedures.
