Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Laboratory Technician to process patient specimens, perform waived and moderate-complexity tests, and ensure accurate, timely results in accordance with procedures and quality standards. The role includes quality control, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and supporting laboratory activities, with a day shift and variable hours.

A high school diploma is preferred and an Associate’s degree or higher in the sciences is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; associate degree or higher in chemical, physical, or biological sciences or medical laboratory science preferred.
• Experience performing waived and moderate-complexity tests.
• Familiarity with CLIA regulations and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Process patient specimens and perform waived and moderate-complexity tests.
• Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of results.
• Perform quality control, equipment maintenance, and calibration.
• Document procedures and assist with administrative tasks.
