Job summary

Clean Harbors in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team. The Laboratory Technician will prepare samples and analyze them to determine chemical and physical properties, in a traditional lab setting with no travel.

The role requires adherence to safety and QA/QC guidelines. Shift is Monday–Friday, days 3:00pm–11:00pm with overtime and Saturday work as needed; training on day shift for 4–6 weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; plus 1 year of specialized training.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or physical science is preferred.
• Solid understanding of math, chemistry and chemical testing preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs analysis of samples following prescribed procedures and solves minor problems.
• Calibrates and utilizes instrumentation.
• Maintains equipment and suggests solutions to problems.
• Completes all paperwork associated with analyses in a neat and timely fashion.
• Ensures all work meets QA/QC guidelines.
• Manages supplies and housekeeping in area of responsibility.
