Job summary
Allina Health seeks an entry-level phlebotomy and laboratory support professional to join a diverse, multicultural lab environment. The role combines outpatient phlebotomy with specimen processing and waived testing, supporting hospital operations and collaboration across departments.
Expect 0.8 FTE (64 hours per two-week pay period) on an 8-hour day/evening shift with every other weekend, within Mercy Lab in Minnesota. Benefits, union considerations, and career growth opportunities are provided.
Qualifications
- 36 semester hours of chemistry/biology/medical laboratory from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum of 24 semester hours in biology/medical laboratory technology.
- At least 3 months lab training in each specialty lab area where highly complex testing is performed.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine pre-analytic laboratory procedures.
- Evaluates acceptability of specimens.
- Processes specimens as required.
- Performs routine problem resolution related to orders, specimens, and billing.
- May train others in assigned work area.
- Participates in departmental or system wide projects or committees as assigned.
