Job summary

Allina Health's Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis is seeking a Medical Laboratory Professional to join the Central Lab team as a 1.0 FTE night shift role. The position processes high-volume tests, supports phlebotomy and specimen handling, and ensures accuracy in patient identification and testing workflows.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 to 5 years experience in phlebotomy.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine lab procedures within guidelines.
• Verifies patient identification and test orders.
• Collects samples via venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Processes specimens and labels appropriately.
• Stocks phlebotomy supplies and manages inventory.
• Provides lab reception support and patient check-in.
• Participates in proficiency testing and staff training.
• Other duties as assigned.
