Job summary

SGS is seeking a laboratory assistant to prepare samples for analysis, calibrate prep instruments, and maintain documentation in a compliant laboratory setting.

The role involves performing routine instrument maintenance and keeping accurate lab notebooks, while adhering to internal standards and procedures. Training will be provided, with opportunities to grow in analytical chemistry disciplines.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years in analytical chemistry labs or related hands-on lab work.
• High School degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SOPs and department methods.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance and calibration of prep instruments.
• Input and maintain technical information to support lab functions.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

• After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPsusing basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories seedor biological laboratory or prior experience working with one’shandsRequired
• High School Degree preferred but not required
