Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a Lab Technician to perform mechanical testing and specimen preparation in our Decatur, Alabama laboratory. You will execute tensile and Charpy tests, prepare and verify specimens, and maintain detailed testing records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, quality, laboratory or machining environments is preferred.
• Ability to read technical specs, drawings and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, test, verify and document material test specimens for ASTM standards.
• Conduct tensile and Charpy V-Notch tests and record results.
• Operate CNC equipment to machine test specimens as needed.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and clean work areas.
• Ensure data accuracy and traceability in records and reports.
