Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. in Pelham, Alabama, seeks a Metallurgical Engineering specialist to certify material lots and validate test results (tensile, hardness, Charpy) against ASTM/ASME/ISO standards.

You will process certificate data, maintain the Lab Information Management System (LIMS), support ISO audits, and ensure accurate data and clear communication. A BS in Metallurgical Engineering is preferred, and experience with CNC equipment, ERP systems, and QA in steel production is valued.

Qualifications

• Clear verbal and written communication in all interactions with internal/external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data entry is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate standards and specifications and promptly respond to inquiries.
• Process incoming raw material certificate data.
• Verify accuracy and completion of tensile, hardness, and Charpy test results and related information.
• Identify, alert, and resolve incorrect or missing report data.
• Maintain the Lab Information Management System (LIMS).
