Job summary

The Lab Technician at Nucor Towers and Structures (NTS) supports preparation, testing, verification, and documentation of material test specimens to ensure compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements. You will perform tensile and Charpy impact tests per ASTM standards, operate CNC equipment for specimen machining, maintain records, and help manage data in quality systems.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with experience in manufacturing, quality, lab, or machining

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; ability to read specs and data.
• Experience in manufacturing, quality, lab, machining or similar.
• Ability to read technical docs and perform basic math.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in an industrial lab.
• ISO 9001 or quality system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, test, verify and document material test specimens.
• Perform tensile and Charpy testing per ASTM standards.
• Operate CNC equipment for machining test specimens.
• Maintain lab equipment and records.
• Analyze results and support retesting and data management.
