Job Description

The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for executing assigned duties under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor or designated personnel. This role involves performing tests and calibrations following company guidelines, identifying deviations from quality systems or procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
2. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
3. Follow management system requirements, including Quality Manual, SOPs, and local work instructions, to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC and government regulations.
4. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
5. Register incoming samples and maintain accurate records of work performed.
6. Enter sample data into Eurofins eLIMS system accurately and promptly.
7. Complete laboratory testing on incoming samples efficiently and accurately, meeting turnaround time goals.
8. Verify and submit results for transmission in a timely manner.
9. Identify process issues and report them with proposed solutions to the supervisor.
10. Respond to client, staff, and co-worker queries promptly.
11. Maintain cooperative relationships and communicate effectively within the team.
12. Promote the company's image through ethical business practices.
13. Strive for continuous improvement using existing and new technologies.
14. Identify non-conformances and out-of-specification results.
15. Conduct all activities safely and efficiently.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience with plating and plate reading preferred.
• Additional preference for candidates with an AS or BS Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.

Additional Information:

Shift: 3rd shift, Tuesday-Saturday, 2am-10:30am. Transition from Monday-Friday to Tuesday-Saturday shift.
