Job summary

SGS is seeking a Laboratory Technician - Juvenile Products in the United States. The role involves performing routine laboratory tests to determine the performance and composition of juvenile furniture and product materials, following SOPs and industry standards.

Under supervision, you will develop and validate test methods, ensure safety compliance, and maintain accurate lab reports. The position includes standard benefits and requires 2-5 years in a relevant lab setting and an Associate degree

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 2-5 years working in relevant SBU industrial/lab/field setting with experience following strict safety standards.
  • Ability to perform routine laboratory testing and adhere to SOPs and safety procedures.
  • Experience testing to standards (ASTM, CSPA, ISO, SSC, etc.) and client protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory tests to determine performance, chemical and/or physical composition ofFurniture or Toys and Juvenile Products.
  • Follow SOPs and test methods; validate performance on methods as required.
  • Develop, write, review, perform and validate test methods, SOPs, and other documents under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal safety processes and procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory reports and assist in lab operations as needed.
  • Perform QA/QC checks on equipment and help manage inventory of lab supplies.

Education

Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent combination of education and experience (Required)
