Minimum qualifications include two years of lab experience or equivalent substitutions; preferred candidates may have a bachelor’s in biology or chemistry and familiarity with a wide range of lab

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time or equivalent lab experience in a recognized lab.
• Substitution: Associate’s degree may substitute for up to one year of experience.
• Substitution: One year of education toward a degree in medical/dental school may substitute for one year.
• Substitution: Training in an approved lab/medical tech program may substitute for one year.
• Substitution: MT or bacteriology registration may substitute for required experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up STEM lab experiments and prepare chemical solutions following safety protocols.
• Provide support to teaching faculty and students when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of laboratory spaces and perform related duties.
• Read and log temperatures and pressures of key equipment and notify staff of issues.
• Assist in preparing lab safety incident reports and update related databases.
• Carry out weekend and evening duties as assigned.
• Perform administrative tasks for department activities including supplies and inventory.
