Job summary

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician for the Biology department to support the preparation, cleanup, and organization of teaching labs. This temporary role runs 7.5 hours per week through December 19, 2026, with a flexible schedule (1 day at 7.5 hours or 2 days at 3.75 hours).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
• Experience in making stock solutions is preferred.
• Previous college-level lab preparation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares culture media and chemical stock solutions following standard written lab formulae and procedures.
• Sets up laboratory equipment as prescribed in lab prep notes.
• Cleans up and organizes equipment and supplies after laboratory exercises are complete.
• Cleans glassware and sterilizes biological waste.
• Resets lab exercises between sections, as needed.
