Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Florida is seeking a Lab Assistant to prepare specimens for analysis, register and accession orders via Hospital Information System and Laboratory Information Systems, and support technicians in daily lab operations.

The role involves performing pre-analytical and analytical procedures, handling specimen processing, phlebotomy, and assisting with culture setups in Microbiology.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Six (6) months of prior experience as a lab assistant.
Certification in Phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

Operates, maintains, and repairs clinical laboratory equipment within the scope of training.
Provides support functions to technologists including loading and maintaining instruments and preparing reagents.
Assists in preparation and processing of bone marrow specimens.
Performs phlebotomy to ensure accurate and timely processing of lab test orders.
Completes culture setup and gram stain preparation when staffed in Microbiology.
