Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Six (6) months of prior experience as a lab assistant.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, and repairs clinical lab equipment within training scope.
• Supports technologists with instrument loading, reagents, and quality checks.
• Keeps appropriate persons informed of instrument problems and resolutions.
• Assists in preparation and processing of bone marrow specimens.
• Performs clerical duties and maintains safe, organized work area.
• Provides laboratory customer service including specimen collection information and result inquiries.
• Performs phlebotomy to ensure timely processing of lab orders.
• Conducts culture setup in microbiology when staffed.
