Job summary

SPL, an environmental testing and measurement solutions provider, is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Reading, PA area on 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM EST). You will handle sample preparation, data entry in LIMS, and QC activities in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on instrument interaction, adherence to SOPs and safety guidelines, and collaboration with a skilled team to ensure accurate, high-quality results for critical infrastructure and environmental testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related discipline required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Hands-on lab experience preferred through employment, internships, or coursework
• Experience in fast-paced, high-throughput environments strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer applications

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation of environmental samples following established laboratory methods and procedures
• Enter, review, and maintain sample preparation data within LIMS
• Perform routine quality control activities associated with sample preparation processes
• Follow SOPs, QA/QC standards, safety protocols, and chain-of-custody procedures
• Support laboratory workflow, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with laboratory team members to meet sample throughput and turnaround time objectives
• Assist with housekeeping, glassware cleaning, and inventory management activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
