Job summary

SPL in Reading, PA is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our environmental laboratory team. You will perform sample preparation and data entry in the LIMS, supporting accurate, compliant testing and a safe, organized lab environment.

You’ll work hands-on with laboratory instrumentation, contribute to QA/QC and continuous improvement, and collaborate with an experienced team to deliver high-quality results for critical infrastructure and environmental protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Hands-on lab experience gained through employment, internships, research projects, or academic coursework
• Experience in fast-paced, high-throughput environments strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer applications

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation of environmental samples following established laboratory methods and procedures
• Accurately enter, review, and maintain sample preparation data within LIMS
• Perform routine quality control activities associated with sample preparation processes
• Follow SOPs, QA/QC standards, safety protocols, and chain-of-custody procedures
• Support laboratory workflow, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with laboratory team members to meet sample throughput and turnaround time objectives
• Assist with housekeeping, glassware cleaning, and inventory management activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
