Job summary

Open Door Community Health Centers is seeking a Lab Assistant II to perform routine laboratory tasks including venipuncture, back-office testing, microscopy, and results entry. The role requires a CPT I–II, LVN, or CMA certification and provides responsibilities within a busy clinic lab.

The position supports quality control, specimen handling, and inventory management while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPT I or CPT II certification, LVN, or CMA license.
• 3–6 months of related laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and perform basic in-house tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and process specimens for testing.
• Enter results into EPIC EMR and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct microscopic urinalyses and wet-mount slides.
• Maintain inventory and order lab supplies as needed.
• Attend lab and clinical staff meetings and participate in QC checks.
• Assist with general lab housekeeping and safety procedures.
