Job summary

Open Door Community Health Centers in Ferndale, CA seeks a Lab Assistant II to perform routine lab tasks including venipuncture, specimen processing, and back-office testing. The role requires CPT I/II, LVN, or CMA certification and a high school diploma or GED, with CPR certification.

Strong data entry and teamwork skills are essential. This full-time position reports to the Lab Manager and expects weekend rotation as needed, with the potential for language differential for eligible bilingual

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three to six months of experience in a similar role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to maintain a current CPT I or CPT II, LVN, or CMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and process specimens for reference lab testing.
• Conduct microscopic urinalyses, wet-mount slides, and stains.
• Maintain accurate records of all specimens and enter results in EMR.
• Log and distribute incoming reports; perform quality control testing.
• Attend lab and staff meetings; perform in-house tests.
• Maintain inventory and order lab supplies; ensure proper storage of specimens.
