Vitalant is hiring a Laboratory Technician in Tempe, AZ to support blood component production, labeling, and data entry. The role involves preparing components and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced, mission-driven lab.

Compensation Considerations: Job Grade: 114 Hourly Pay: 18.27 - 18.67 DOE Shift Hours: 7:00 pm - 3:30 am with Rotating Weekends, day off during the week. Training Schedule Mon-Fri 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm OR 6:30 am - 3:30 pm Tue-Sat / Sun -Thurs Work Shift (if applicable): Shift 2 (United States of America)

Your impact as a Laboratory Technician is vital. Support Vitalant's life-saving mission by operating within the laboratory handling responsibilities that include component production, labeling, record reviewing and data entry.
As a Laboratory Technician, you'll get to Maintain accurate data records and documentation. Prepare blood components through processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration. Ensure product quality, volume, appearance, and time requirements. Conduct labeling for routine and special components and implement quarantine procedures.

REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION High School graduate or GED required. EXPERIENCE No experience required. SKILLS/ABILITIES Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be detail oriented and possess strong communication, organization, and analytical skills. Must be able to maintain donor, patient and employee confidentiality. Must possess basic keyboarding skills and the ability to handle and operate laboratory equipment. Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.
