Job summary

Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Services Supervisor to oversee daily technical operations, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality blood product testing and labeling. You will coordinate equipment maintenance, QC activities, and investigations into deviations, while guiding a team toward reliable, compliant results.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field and medical technologist certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, medical technology or medical laboratory science.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency or CLIA equivalent for moderate/high complexity testing.
• One year of laboratory experience; two years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and assess the performance of the intake of blood products, product testing, and product labeling.
• Oversee department equipment maintenance program, including preventative maintenance records and vendor scheduling.
• Manage the Product Quality Control program, including completion of QC records, assessments, reporting, and corrective action.
• Investigate deviations in testing, quality control, and preventative maintenance.
• Provide effective leadership to achieve high levels of service and product quality.
