Job summary

Cordant Health Solutions is seeking a self-motivated Lab Technician to join the Laboratory Operations team in Indianapolis. You will prepare batches, sort specimens, read Chain of Custody forms, and ensure proper labeling and test ordering.

This full-time role offers daytime shift hours, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a laboratory or high-volume production environment preferred.
• Ability to interpret and follow complex written instructions required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy essential.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Open sample bags, create accessions and batches, and order proper tests.
• Apply barcode labels and ensure proper sample orientation.
• Verify aliquot volumes; hand-pour aliquots if needed.
• Identify samples needing additional attention and assist with transport between departments.
• Enter client and donor information; note deficiencies after Team Lead sign-off.
• Maintain chain of custody during handling and storage of samples.
• Follow laboratory policies, health and safety standards, and perform other duties.
