Cordant Health Solutions in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Lab Technician to support Laboratory Operations. You will prepare batches by handling urine and oral fluid specimens, read CoC forms, and apply barcodes to ensure samples are ready for testing.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to follow complex instructions, and data entry skills. A high school diploma is required, with preferred laboratory experience and the ability to stand for long periods while lifting up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience in a laboratory or high-volume production environment (preferred).
• Ability to interpret and follow complex written instructions (required).
• Strong attention to detail (required).
• Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding) (required).
• Strong hand-eye coordination (required).
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, bend, and carry as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare batches by receiving and sorting specimens.
• Read and scan Chain of Custody (CoC) forms and order tests.
• Aliquot specimens into testing vials and apply barcoded labels.
• Verify proper aliquot volume; hand-pour aliquots using bulb pipettes if required.
• Identify and separate samples needing additional attention.
• Transport batches to other departments and manage freezer storage while maintaining chain of custody.
• Follow all laboratory policies and health and safety standards.
