Job summary

Cordant Health Solutions in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a self-motivated Lab Technician to join our Laboratory Operations team. This full-time role focuses on preparing batches, sorting specimens, reading Chain of Custody forms, and applying barcodes to ensure proper sample labeling for testing.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, exceptional attention to detail, data-entry skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience in a laboratory or high-volume production environment (preferred).
• Ability to interpret and follow complex written instructions (required).
• Strong attention to detail (required).
• Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding) (required).
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs (required).

Responsibilities

• Prepare batches by receiving and sorting specimens at the assigned workstation.
• Order applicable tests in the system and apply barcode labels to samples.
• Read and scan Chain of Custody (CoC) forms and verify documentation.
• Verify proper aliquot volumes; hand-pour aliquots when required.
• Enter client and donor information and manage batches and storage with proper chain of custody.
• Follow laboratory policies and safety standards; transport batches as needed.
