Job summary

HP Inc. is seeking a technician-level engineer in San Diego to support engineering partners by executing experiments from general objectives. You will develop, monitor, and analyze tests, and aid in tool and fixture development, process documentation and software usage.

The role requires programming basics, problem solving, teamwork, and strong communication. You will work with XML/UNIX/C/C++/Python and image processing tools to meet project goals, in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use algebraic formulas, decimals and fractions.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and schedule tasks to meet partner needs.
• Must be able to cope with rapid changes in priority.
• Strong multi-tasking skills; switch between tasks on demand.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Must have effective communication and networking skills.
• Able to work in an ambiguous environment, with little supervision.
• Must know basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must have some foundation, programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, monitor and analyze standard and non-standard operations, tests or experiments.
• Provide technical support to a process/product including tool/fixture development and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and document failures on equipment and test beds to component level.
• Set up computer systems to control equipment; troubleshoot OS installations.
• Communicate real time failure causes and findings to partners and engineers.
