Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is hiring a Research Technician I/II for the Science Education Partnership (SEP). You will pack and restock classroom kits, aliquot reagents, perform QC, operate instruments, and support SEP activities.

The role blends lab work with admin tasks and curriculum development to aid Washington teachers and students. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, passionate about science education, and ready to collaborate with the SEP team under the Lab Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related scientific field or equivalent.
• Demonstrated basic laboratory skills.
• 2 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework.
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to follow directions with fidelity, ask for clarification when needed, and perform duties independently.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pack, unpack, inspect and inventory kit items.
• Prepare and precisely aliquot lab reagents, maintain backup stocks and QC checks.
• Maintain Airtable data entries and support SEP inventory systems.
• Assist with improvements to the Kit Loan Program and publish new curricula with SEP team.
• Train undergraduate or high school interns under supervision and perform other duties.
