Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Shared Resources Experimental Histopathology Technician to support routine and customized slide-based assays for our research teams in Seattle. You will assist with tissue processing, reagent prep, and labeling, while maintaining strict SOP adherence and lab safety.

The role involves equipment upkeep, inventory management, and collaboration with the Precision Oncology group.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in science/engineering or related field, or GED/HS diploma with 1+ year experience.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new systems and techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential tasks for Experimental Histopathology following SOPs, including reagent prep and slide handling.
• Coordinate maintenance on tissue processors, IHC/H&E stainers, and slide printers; maintain equipment logs.
• Assist with inventory, ordering supplies, and sample routing for the Precision Oncology team.
• Document laboratory activities accurately and communicate with investigators clearly.
• Support training and education of team members; perform other duties as assigned.
