Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company seeks an entry-level Laboratory Technician (Eng/Tech) to join the Texas Analytical group in the Texas Technology Department, based in Texas. You will develop hands-on expertise across analytical instrumentation, emphasizing safety and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate holds an AA/AAS or B.S.

in chemistry or physical science, with preferred B.S. in Chemistry and formal lab training.

Qualifications

• AA/AAS in Chemistry or a Bachelor's degree in a physical science.
• B.S. in Chemistry is preferred.
• Formal training in standard laboratory practices is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and scientific skills, including familiarity with basic statistical methods.
• Demonstrated initiative, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with colleagues on projects utilizing a variety of analytical techniques
• Support the evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of analytical technologies for commercial products and laboratory processes
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Accurately document experimental work, prepare technical reports, test methods, summaries and other scientific literature
• Lead and actively participate on cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams
• Support quality systems and prepare documentation and reports for internal and external regulatory agencies
• Perform all work safely while promoting a strong culture of safety and compliance
